A. No, you do not need 3 estimates. You are free to get as many as you desire but it is not necessary. Your only obligation is to choose the repair shop of your choice and inform the insurance company.

Q. What should I look for when choosing a repair facility?
A. Referrals from other satisfied customers and insurance companies. I-car certified employees and repair shops that provide a lifetime warranty to guarantee their work.

Q. What if an insurance company refuses to work with the repair shop I choose?
A. An insurance company cannot refuse to work with the repair shop you choose. As the owner of the vehicle, you have the legal right to choose any shop of your choice.

Q. Do I have to pay for a rental car?
A. If your vehicle is getting repaired thru your own policy, check with your agent to verify if you have rental coverage.

Q. When is my deductible due?
A. Your deductible is due at the completion of the repairs.

Q. What is a DRP (direct repair provider)?
A. A DRP shop is a shop that has a relationship with the insurance company and must meet certain requirements that the insurance company requires of their repair facilities.

Q. What if the shop I choose is not a DRP for my insurance company?
A. That’s ok. As the owner of the vehicle you have the legal right to choose the repair facility of your choice. A reputable shop should provide a lifetime warranty and work with all major insurance companies.
